Not by my ability, but by God's ability
Recently, Hannah helped me make Dongchimi (radish water kimchi). As we cut the radishes, added the seasonings, and prepared the starch porridge, she simply had to follow my lead. There was a period of patient endurance required in that obedience; occasionally, when my child acted without direction, I had to offer a gentle correction.
However, by persevering through that process, we were finally able to share the Dongchimi with those who were ill. As we made the deliveries, she proudly announced, "I made this!"—then added in a whisper, "(...with Mommy)." By joining my child’s small efforts with my ability, my child was able to accomplish something far beyond their own strength and avoid the mistakes that come from working alone.
Prayer: Lord, I confess that I do not have the strength to make "Your Dongchimi" on my own. I lack the ability to handle the great tasks You have set before me. Yet, I choose to move forward in patience and obedience, following exactly as You lead and command.
Thank You, Lord, for always empowering me to handle things that are far beyond my own capacity. Thank You for always opening a way of escape and providing exactly what I need to survive and thrive. I love You, Lord. Amen.
